[Page 4 of our Fall 2006 mission trip to Central America]

(15[Sept 29th]  Bryan and Riechelle invited us to accompany them and their team from Maine to Esperanza, a primitive village nearby along the shore of Lake Isabel as they conduct a medical clinic.  The purpose of the clinic was for Bryan to see, diagnose, and prescribe medicine for adults and children who ordinarily would never get to a medical facility or the attention of medical professionals.  Throughout the coundtryside so many cases of worms, rashes, and viral infections go untreated.  Bryan is doing all that he can to reach as many as possible and it was a very humbling experience to be allowed to assist them in this noble effort.

Lorin worked with Riechelle greeting the people and assigning them a case number.  She also made many new friends helping to bring smiles to nervous little faces.

Truly, it was a day of special moments and lasting impressions.  The Buchanans have 'paid' a great 'price' to be able to offer such loving care and I found myself wanting to admire them and to help them all the more.  Before leaving I asked if we could do something briefly with our puppets and music.  Bryan has always wanted to have something like that and happily allowed us.  Lorin and Kyle started in with a small skit, then all of the team followed with songs such as "Jesus Loves The Little Children."  It was touching to see that even the adults watched and listened with curiosity and that hearts were being touched!
